ABOUT STEPHEN
Photography has been my life for over 25 years. From the moment I picked up my first camera, I knew it was a tool that allowed me to capture moments and tell stories in a way words never could. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients and every interaction and every frame, has taught me something new. Through it all, my love for creativity has never wavered, and neither has my drive to push my own boundaries.
The past few years, however, have been a journey of reinvention. Like many, I found myself at a crossroads during the COVID-19 pandemic. It felt as though the world had paused, and for a time, my career did too. After wallowing for a bit (I hate to admit that), I started to see the opportunity to rise again. It wasn’t simple, but I eventually embraced the chance to rethink my approach, reconnect with my passion, and reignite the fire that first drew me to photography. It wasn’t just about getting back to business; it was about rediscovering the heart of what I do and infusing it with a renewed sense of purpose and innovation.
As a photographer, I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling. But as a person, I believe in the power of balance. Outside the studio, I’m a family man—my loved ones keep me grounded and remind me that life is as much about deep connections and experience as it is about creating. I’m also passionate about my health, which has become more important to me than ever. Whether it’s through exercise, nutrition, or simply spending time outdoors, staying active fuels my energy and creativity.
It’s that same love for my family that helps me deeply connect with the families I work with during their milestone events. I understand the importance of these moments and the emotions that come with them. Each celebration, each photograph, is a reflection of the memories that will shape a family's legacy. This personal connection to my own family reminds me of the honor it is to capture the joy, love, and togetherness of others, ensuring their stories are preserved for generations to come.
Additionally, I’ve always had a love for drawing. It’s something I’ve enjoyed for as long as I can remember. Sketching allows me to express my ideas in a different way and keeps my creativity flowing. I find that my drawing and photography often influence each other—whether I’m exploring composition, texture, or light. The two mediums feel connected, and I often go between them to fuel my imagination.
Having been both a creator and a businessperson, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about perseverance, adaptability, and, most importantly, staying true to yourself. Over the years, I’ve realized that the real key to longevity in this industry isn’t just about following trends or chasing what’s next; it’s about maintaining a strong sense of identity in your work. Creativity and business sense go hand in hand, but it’s the authenticity behind what you do that truly sets you apart.
Now, after navigating the challenges of the past few years, I’m more excited than ever to continue my journey. Every project I take on is a chance share a piece of my vision with the world.
